Privacy Policy

Hudna (هُدنة) is a menstrual cycle tracking and education app. We treat your data — especially your health data — with care. This policy explains what we collect, why, how it's stored, and your rights.

1. Information We Collect

• Account data: name and email obtained through your authentication provider (Apple or Google, managed via Clerk).
• Cycle & health data: period dates, symptoms, mood, discharge, notes, and onboarding questionnaire responses. We treat these as sensitive health information.
• Technical usage data: anonymous crash reports and performance metrics to improve the app (PostHog).
• Push token: if you enable notifications, to deliver cycle reminders.

2. What We Do Not Collect

• We do not collect your location.
• We do not access your contacts, photos, or microphone.
• We do not sell your data to anyone, ever.
• We do not share your health data for advertising or marketing.

3. How We Use Your Data

Data is used solely to operate the app: showing your current cycle phase, predicting your next period, saving your logs, sending the reminders you opted into, and supporting you when you contact us. We do not use your data to train AI models.

4. Storage & Security

Your data is stored on encrypted Convex servers and transmitted over TLS. Access is restricted to your account via Clerk authentication. We follow reasonable industry-standard practices, but no system can guarantee absolute security.

5. Service Providers

We rely on the following processors to operate the service. None of them use your data for their own purposes:

• Clerk — authentication and account management.
• Convex — database and application servers.
• Apple Push Notification Service — iOS notifications.
• PostHog — anonymous product analytics (disabled in development builds).
• Resend — waitlist and transactional email.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction (including under GDPR and CCPA where applicable), you have the right to:

• Access a copy of your data.
• Correct data through the app or by contacting us.
• Delete your account and all associated data from in-app settings or by emailing privacy@hudna.app.
• Withdraw consent by disabling notifications or deleting your account at any time.
• Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

7. Children

Hudna is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided data without parental consent, contact us and we will delete it.

8. Data Retention

We retain your data while your account is active. When you delete your account, we erase your cycle and questionnaire data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

9. International Transfers

Your data may be processed on servers located outside your country. We use reasonable contractual and technical safeguards wherever it is processed.

10. Medical Disclaimer

Hudna is an educational cycle-tracking tool and is not a medical device or a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always consult a qualified clinician for health decisions.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy. We will notify you of material changes through the app or by email before they take effect.
